Job summary

BCG Attorney Search is seeking a Patent Agent for our Boston, MA office. You will work with a team to draft and manage patent applications, ensuring protection for clients' innovations in critical jurisdictions.

The role emphasizes experience in high-tech patent prosecution, collaboration, and meticulous document management in a fast-paced environment. USPTO preference, and a background in CS/EE strongly supported.

Qualifications

• USPTO admission preferred.
• 1+ year patent prosecution experience, ideally with AI/ML.
• Experience with software, hardware, databases, wireless tech, and image/signal processing.
• Technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Prior law-firm experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; highly professional and detail-oriented.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Review invention disclosures and conduct invention disclosure meetings.
• Conduct prior searches, review references, and assess patentability.
• Draft patent applications.
• Review USPTO actions, prepare responses, and conduct examiner interviews.
• Manage U.S. and foreign dockets.
• Analyze patents for due diligence or freedom-to-operate analyses.
