Job summary

Mintz is seeking a Patent Agent with at least one year of patent prosecution experience to join our Boston, NY, San Diego, San Francisco or Washington, DC offices. A technical background in computer science or electrical engineering is preferred, with experience in AI, software, hardware, databases, wireless, and image/signal processing.

The role requires 60% time in-office compliance and collaboration across offices. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package and a bonus program.

Qualifications

• USPTO admission preferred.
• At least 1 year of patent prosecution experience.
• Technology background in computer science or electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Review invention disclosures and conduct disclosure meetings.
• Draft patent applications and respond to office actions.
• Analyze patentability and conduct prior art searches.
• Review USPTO office actions, formulate responses, interview examiners, and draft filings.
• Manage U.S. and foreign dockets and perform freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Collaborate with team members and work from the office ~60% of time.
