Job summary

NXP Semiconductors in Chandler, AZ seeks an Analog Design Engineer to design high‑performance analog and mixed‑signal circuits, including high‑speed re-drivers, USB interfaces, clocking systems, and precision analog blocks.

You will perform hands‑on circuit design, simulations, and documentation from concept to silicon validation, translate requirements into architectures, develop behavioral models in MATLAB/Simulink, and collaborate with layout to ensure matching and EM/IR compliance.

Qualifications

  • MS in Electrical Engineering with 3–5 years of IC development experience or PhD with 1–2 years experience.
  • Strong expertise in high-speed analog circuit design fundamentals including signal integrity, jitter analysis, noise, bandwidth optimization, stability and frequency compensation techniques.
  • Proven experience in high-speed interfaces (SerDes, USB, Ethernet) or clocking systems (PLL, CDR).
  • Hands-on experience with Cadence IC design tools (Virtuoso, Spectre) and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Solid understanding of device physics and parasitic effects impacting high-speed performance.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and excellent verbal/written English.

Responsibilities

  • Design high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits, including high-speed re-drivers and USB interfaces.
  • Design clocking circuits (PLL, frequency multipliers) and high-speed IO; precision analog blocks and cap-less LDOs.
  • Hands-on circuit design, simulations and documentation from concept to silicon validation.
  • Translate chip-level requirements into detailed architectures and sub-block specifications.
  • Develop behavioral models (Verilog-A/AMS) for analog blocks to validate performance.
  • Perform system-level modeling (MATLAB/Simulink) for noise and transfer functions.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews and present solutions to internal teams and customers.
  • Collaborate with layout engineers to ensure device matching, EM/IR compliance, shielding, and guard rings.
