Job summary

Portland Public Schools is seeking a YAC Advisor at Portland High School to guide students in leadership and service opportunities. The advisor will support planning and oversight of meetings, activities, and events and collaborate with staff and partners to foster student involvement.

The ideal candidate will have experience advising student organizations or working with high school students in leadership or mentoring roles, plus strong communication and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in working with and mentoring high school students.
• Ability to encourage student leadership, involvement, and positive decision-making.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively plan, coordinate, and supervise student activities, meetings, and events.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, administration, and community partners.
• Previous experience working with student organizations, leadership groups, or youth programs preferred.

• The YAC Advisor will provide guidance, support, and supervision to students participating in YAC.
• The advisor will work closely with students to promote leadership development, student involvement, community engagement, and service opportunities.
