Responsibilities

• Coaches participants in sport-specific skills for performance
• Provide a positive learning environment for athletes
• Plan and schedule regular practice in line with district policy and regulations
• Manage athlete behavior during training and competitions
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities
• Assist athletic director with scheduling interscholastic contests
• Recommend equipment and uniforms as appropriate
• Maintain complete records (attendance, insurance, accident reports)
• Oversee safety of facilities during sports activities
• Ensure eligibility criteria are met for interscholastic competition
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanship at all times
• Prepare field or court for activities
• Provide rosters and end-of-year inventory to athletic director
• Evaluate coaches and assist with staff development
