Winterset CSD's Winterset High School in Winterset, Iowa, seeks a part-time High School Wrestling Cheer Coach (.5FTE) to guide both varsity and junior varsity squads, starting Nov 1, 2026. The coach will teach fundamentals, encourage discipline, and promote school spirit.

The role reports to the Activities Directory and collaborates with the Building Principal and other coaches. A valid state coaching certificate and a high school diploma are required, with prior coaching experience preferred.

TITLE: High School Wrestling Cheer Coach

DEPARTMENT: High School Athletics

REPORTS TO: Activities Directory

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Activities Director, Building Principal, and Other Coaches

BASIC FUNCTION: Ensure each participating student athlete acquires the knowledge of skills and fundamentals of the sport, acquire an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, teamwork, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Knowledge and Education

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid state certificate/endorsement to coach
  • Proficiency in the assigned coaching area

Desired:

  • Previous experience in similar position

Terms of Employment: Wage and work year to be established in accordance with provisions of the Comprehensive Agreement.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Comprehensive Agreement.

Physical Requirements: Bending, carrying, climbing, travel between job sites, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking

Working Conditions: Includes extremes of temperature and humidity. Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases.
