Job summary

DeKalb County School District's Martin L. King Jr. High School is seeking a motivated Assistant Wrestling Coach to work with high school students. The role involves supporting the Head Coach with game techniques, strategies, and overall player development, under the Principal's supervision.

A Lay Coaching Certificate, a valid first aid certificate, and a high school diploma or GED are required. The position is temporary and renewed annually; continuation depends on program needs and performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Experience and knowledge coaching sports is preferred.
• Georgia High School Association Lay Coaching Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach with game techniques and strategies to prepare for competition.
• Determine needs for individual or team improvement; follow directions from Head Coach at all times.
• Maintain inventory of athletic equipment and keep facilities in order.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of first aid techniques and safety protocols.
• Maintain locker room and playing facilities; ensure smooth operation of home and away games.
• This is a temporary Community Coach position and is renewed annually.
