Job summary

Southwest DeKalb High School, part of the DeKalb County School District, is seeking a Track and Field Community Coach to support high school athletes. The role involves assisting the Head Coach with techniques and strategies and maintaining equipment and facilities, with supervision by the Principal and Head Coach.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, and certification such as the Georgia High School Association Lay Coaching Certificate and current first aid certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience coaching sports preferred.
• Georgia High School Association Lay Coaching Certificate required.
• Valid first aid certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the Principal and Head Coach.
• Assist Head Coach with game techniques and strategies.
• Determine the need for individual or team improvement; accept directions from the Head Coach at all times.
• Assist with maintaining inventory of athletic equipment and facilities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of first aid techniques and the locker room and playing facilities.
