Position Summary

Organization: LULAC National Education Service Center
Location: Various high schools around Albuquerque, New Mexico
Off‑Campus Work‑Study position – must have a work‑study award

Responsibilities

The student will mentor and tutor 9‑12 grade students in science and math in a one‑to‑one or small group setting. The role is Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM and includes:

  • Providing structured learning experiences during after‑school hours
  • Assisting students with homework and coursework in Mathematics (Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Calculus) and Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Ensuring proper documentation of each tutoring session is completed
Qualifications
  • Work‑Study award for 2025–2026 academic year
  • Ability to pass an Albuquerque Public School background check
  • Availability to work one Saturday per month
Preferred Qualifications
  • Team‑oriented with strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills
  • Self‑starter, creative, and passionate about learning
  • Bilingual preferred
