Job summary

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
Valid Texas Teaching Certification for the subject/grade level.
Valid Special Education EC-12 Certification.
De-Escalation/Restraint CPI certification preferred or required.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training within one year of hire date.
CDL with Passenger Endorsement within one year of hire date.
Driver's license with CDL preferred if coaching UIL sport.

Responsibilities

Prepare students with disabilities to become contributing members of the community through employment, education, training, independent life skills and self-advocacy.
Conduct Person-Centered Planning Assessments (e.g., Life Plan).
Coordinate activities for individual students to improve academic and functional achievement for transition from school to adult life.
Build relationships with the community to facilitate training and instruction in real environments.
Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and community.
Collaborate with agencies, community groups and colleges as needed.
