Job summary

Bright Local Schools seeks a HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD COACH to lead and mentor student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship and scholastic achievement as part of the educational process. The role involves coordinating practices and competitions and supporting academic progress.

The coach must maintain certifications, comply with state and local rules, and foster a safe environment that keeps athletes healthy and injury-free while serving as a positive role model for students.

Qualifications

• All state and local approved certifications are attained, up to date and on file with the Athletic Director and the Bright Local Board of Education offices.
• Complies with the constitution, by-laws and competition rules of the Ohio High School Athletic Association and the Bright Local Board of Education Coaches handbook.
• Understands the rules and regulations governing the sport.
• Possess strong leadership skills to motivate and develop athletes.
• Oversees and coordinates team and individual practices, training, and competition,
• Assist in monitoring and supporting student-athletes in academic progress.
• Creating a safe environment designed to keep athletes healthy and injury free.

TITLE: HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD COACH

REPORTS TO: ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, PRINCIPAL, SUPERINTENDENT

General Description

The athletic program is an integral part of the educational process of the Bright Local Schools. It promotes a desire in our students and community to take part in sports either as a participant or a spectator. Our aim is to develop competitive student athletes but not lose sight of educational values such as sportsmanship, citizenship, and scholastic achievement. The athletic program should also promote school morale and provide an additional source of self-esteem for our students.

Performance Responsibilities

• All state and local approved certifications are attained, up to date and on file with the Athletic Director and the Bright Local Board of Education offices.

Additional Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
• Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
• Occasional interaction among unruly children.
