Centinela Valley Union High School District in Hawthorne, CA, seeks an Assistant Coach for Track and Field at Hawthorne High School for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualifications

• Experience playing or coaching the sport in which applying for.
• Ability to explain, demonstrate, and analyze fundamental skills and strategies.
• Ability to meet all CIF Coaching requirements and certifications.
• Ability to communicate with and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
• Knowledge of CIF Rules and Regulations pertaining to the sport applying.

Responsabilités

• Supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
• Prepare field/courts on Game Day and support logistics as directed by the Head Coach.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student-athletes.
• Assess players' skills.
• Support game strategy as determined by the Head Coach.
• Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off school property.
• Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation at all times (coaches and athletes).
• Take all necessary precautions to protect student-athletes, equipment, and facilities, including protecting students from hazing/bullying.
• Maintain and secure all equipment and uniforms.
• Oversee the process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all athletic equipment.
• Represent the Centinela Valley Union High School District and program in a professional manner.
• Maintain nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or other appropriate administrator.
