Job summary

Centinela Valley Union High School District is seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach at Hawthorne High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports the Head Coach in supervision, skill development, and program planning.

Responsibilities include implementing game plans, supervising athletes, and maintaining equipment while complying with CIF rules and district policies. The position includes a coaching stipend per the collective bargaining agreement and the potential additional season

Qualifications

Experience playing or coaching the sport applying for.
Explain, demonstrate, and analyze fundamental skills and strategies.
Meet all CIF Coaching requirements and certifications.
Communicate with and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
Knowledge of CIF Rules and Regulations pertaining to the sport applying.

Responsibilities

Supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote growth.
Prepare field/courts on Game Day and support logistics as directed by Head Coach.
Use instructional techniques to meet student-athletes' needs.
Assess players' skills and support game strategy as determined by Head Coach.
Apply and enforce student discipline during contests and trips; promote sportsmanship.
Maintain and secure equipment and uniforms; oversee maintenance and storage.
Represent the district and program professionally and maintain nondiscriminatory practices.
Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other activities to improve coaching.
