The Archdiocese of Philadelphia seeks a High School Theology Teacher to join our Catholic school staff for the 2026-27 year. The candidate should have study credits in Religion/Theology from a Catholic college or university and be ready to teach in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include preparing lessons, following USCCB curriculum guidelines, delivering engaging lectures, and collaborating with colleagues to develop materials that foster Catholic faith formation among students.

Qualifications

• Must be a practicing Catholic, willing to uphold Catholic teaching and life.
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology or Religion Studies from a Catholic college or university.
• Secondary teaching experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email/social media.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach classes.
• Follow curriculum framework designated by USCCB.
• Deliver engaging and structured lectures to students.
• Collaborate with department members to create lesson plans and materials.
• Develop in each student an understanding of the Catholic Faith.
• Adapt materials and methods to develop assignments and lesson plans.
• Ensure compliance with school and department policies and objectives.
