Position Description

Working from one of our Family Service Centers, located in Pennsylvania, the CCA Teacher on Assignment will “virtually” manage instructional programs in the absence of the classroom teacher. As a full-time staff member, the Teacher on Assignment will fill needs within our K-12 school on either daily or several day/week placements, ensuring each child successfully works on their instructional program while filling in.

  • Complete all grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner;
  • Support the instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction;
  • Review curriculum and devise alternative approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding (working directly with students and parents);
  • Communicate regularly with parents, students, and other teachers about assessments, provide feedback, suggest instructional strategies, monitor assignments, and coach special projects;
  • Collaborate with other teachers to ensure successful student progression, serve as a central contact for parents, and distribute tasks;
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and detailed understanding of assigned courses;
  • Support students and parents with alternative strategies and additional assistance with assignments and projects;
  • Maintain up-to-date student records and data, including files, online information, attendance, and contact logs;
  • Coordinate with teachers and learning specialists to develop enrichment activities and program modifications;
  • Organize social activities and relevant field trips, integrating them into the curriculum;
  • Create and maintain a virtual “school community”;
  • Participate in State Testing organization and administration;
  • Represent the school in student recruiting and marketing efforts;
  • Collaborate with counselors to ensure appropriate communication, progress, and goal achievement;
  • Attend community activities and field trips for families;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Highly qualified and certified to teach in Pennsylvania (appropriate to grade level responsibilities);
  • Full-time work at a CCA Family Service Center;
  • Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Customer-focused with flexibility;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proven team player;
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for events, including overnight travel;
  • Availability for some evening hours to support families.

This role operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment.
