Job summary

Gary Community School Corporation is seeking qualified educators for Summer School Teaching Positions at the West Side Leadership Academy. The roles cover Elementary and High School programs, with classes Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–1:15 PM, during the June 8, 2026–July 30, 2026 session.

Compensation is set at $37.50 per hour and personnel will support standards-based instruction and student growth. Selected candidates will assess progress, maintain a positive classroom environment, and collaborate

Qualifications

Valid Indiana teaching license in appropriate secondary content area.

Demonstrated expertise in subject-specific instruction.
Ability to support credit recovery, academic intervention, and standards mastery.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards and district curriculum.
Develop and implement lesson plans for summer program objectives.
Monitor, assess, and document student progress during the summer session.
Maintain attendance and required records.
Collaborate with administrators and staff to ensure program success.
Communicate with families regarding student performance and attendance.
Implement accommodations and modifications per IEPs/504 plans.
