Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Abide by Teacher Evaluation System and use Evaluation Handbook.
• Create or select long-range plans aligned with standards and goals.
• Identify and measure learning outcomes for units and daily plans.
• Sequence content and activities appropriately and revise plans as needed.
• Plan lessons and instructional strategies supporting the district mission.
• Adapt materials to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
• Maintain a clean, positive, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Promote active student engagement and establish effective routines.
• Ensure testing environment and test security are maintained.
• Keep accurate records and input grades timely.
• Manage time, materials, and equipment effectively; teach safety procedures.
• Instruct and supervise volunteers and aides when assigned.
• Enforce school policies and district regulations as appropriate.
• Use data to diagnose, plan instruction, and evaluate programs.
• Develop ongoing assessments to monitor progress and adjust curriculum.
• Communicate student progress clearly to parents and colleagues.
• Maintain high expectations for learning for all students.
• Apply effective teaching principles and engage critical and creative thinking.
• Guide students in evaluating information from multiple sources and self-improvement plans.
• Provide instruction for students with special needs, including ESE and ELL students.
• Foster responsibility, integrity, and respect for diversity.
• Share academic and behavioral progress with parents and students.
• Collaborate with other teachers on curriculum and activities.
• Recognize signs of distress or abuse and take appropriate action.
