Job Description
  • 1.Franklin County teachers are expected to abide by the School Board approved Teacher Evaluation System. Teacher Evaluation Handbook available at the District Website.
  • 2.Create or select long range plans based on a review of district and state standards, priorities, student profiles, and instructional priorities. Define goals and objectives for unit and daily plans through.
  • 3.Identify specific intended learning outcomes which are challenging, meaningful, and measurable.
  • 4.Sequence content and activities appropriately.
  • 5.Revising plans based on student needs.
  • 6.Plan and prepare lessons and instructional strategies which support the school improvement plan and the District mission.
  • 7.Select, develop, modify, and/or adapt materials and resources which support learning objectives and address students' varying learning styles, backgrounds, and special needs.
  • 8.Establish and maintain a clean, positive, organized, and safe learning environment.
  • 9.Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
  • 10.Establish routines, procedures and the use of behavior management techniques which are appropriate and effective.
  • 11.Maintain instructional momentum with smooth and efficient transitions from one activity to another.
  • 12.Establish appropriate testing environment and ensure test security.

  • 19.Communicate, in understandable terms, individual student progress knowledgeably and responsibility to the student, parents, and professional colleagues who need access to the information to meet the need of students.
  • 20.Communicate high expectations for learning for all students.
  • 21.Apply principles of learning and effective teaching in instructional delivery.
  • 22.Use appropriate techniques and strategies to enhance the application of critical, creative, and evaluative thinking capabilities of students through engaging learning experiences.
  • 23.Assist students in accessing, interpreting, and evaluating information from multiple sources and encourage self-assessment by students and assist them in developing plans for improving their performance.
  • 24.Provide appropriate instruction and modifications for students with special needs, including exceptional education students and students who have limited proficiency in English.
  • 25.Foster student responsibility, appropriate social behavior, integrity, valuing of culture, diversity, and respect for self and others, by role modeling and learning activities.
  • 26.Provide accurate and timely information to parents and students about academic and behavioral performance of students.
  • 27.Work with other teachers in curriculum development, special activities, and sharing ideas and resources.
  • 28.Recognize overt indicators of student distress or abuse and take appropriate intervention, referral, or reporting actions.
  • 29.Engage in continuing improvement of professional knowledge and responsibility, establishing a Professional Learning Plan (PLP) to determine professional development needs.
  • 30.Act in a professional and ethical manner and adhere at all times to the Principles of Professional Conduct for the Education Profession in Florida (6A-10.081)
  • 31.Maintain confidentiality of student and other professional information.
  • 32.Comply with policies, procedures, and programs.
  • 33.exercising appropriate professional judgment with regards to punctuality, attendance, records, grades, and reports.
