Job summary

Every Special Child LLC in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a passionate High School Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs within an inclusive classroom.

You will develop and implement IEPs, deliver differentiated instruction, monitor progress, and collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to promote student achievement and positive behavior.

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field.
• Experience working with high school students with disabilities, learning differences, or behavioral challenges.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and implementation.
• Familiarity with IDEA, 504 plans, and special education law.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Patient, empathetic, and student-centered approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs and goals.
• Deliver specialized instruction in core academic subjects using evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction techniques.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as needed.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure inclusive learning experiences.
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams regarding student development.
• Manage classroom behavior using positive behavioral intervention and support (PBIS) strategies.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and school-wide initiatives.
