Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Valid Michigan teaching certification/license with endorsement in Special Education
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong knowledge of best practices in special education and disabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet standards and diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and evaluate student performance through tests, quizzes, projects.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Deliver direct instruction in various settings (one-on-one, small groups, co-taught).
• Provide specialized instruction and interventions for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to include students with special needs in school life.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and services provided.
