Job summary

You will collaborate with general education staff, families, and specialists, manage IEP goals, monitor progress, and participate in ARD meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for assigned students.
• Implement instructional or therapeutic programs for students and show preparation evidence.
• Assess student learning styles and adapt instruction to meet needs.
• Employ varied instructional techniques and media, including technology, to support each student.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curricula and assist students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Assist in selecting instructional books, equipment, and media.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal methods.
• Provide or supervise personal and medical care as required by IEP.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities with campus approval.
• Consult with district and outside resources regarding student needs.
