Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a full-time, in-person Special Education Teacher (High School) to support students in Hartford County for the 2026/2027 school year. Start ASAP with a 35-hour work week during school hours (7:45 AM–2:35 PM; exact staff hours to be confirmed).

The role requires CT 165 Comprehensive Special Education certification for grades 9–12, on-site presence, and alignment to student hours. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid Connecticut 165 Comprehensive Special Education, PreK-12 certification.
• Ability to support students in grades 9-12 in a special education setting.
• Ability to work on-site and follow school hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in programs or classrooms designed to support specific student needs.
• Use teaching strategies aligned to the needs of the student population being served.
• Incorporate classroom supports, including sensory supports or adaptive technologies where applicable.
• Support student growth by observing progress and adjusting instructional approaches.
• Maintain clear communication with school-based stakeholders to support consistent implementation of student supports.
