Job summary

Pine River-Backus High School is seeking a long-term substitute special education teacher for the period of 12/7/2026 through 4/3/2027. Licensure in special education is preferred, but all licensed teachers are encouraged to apply. LT sub placement follows PRB Education Minnesota salary matrix based on education and experience.

The salary range is $51,927-$88,066 (prorated for partial year) with benefits including PTO and a state pension plan (TRA).

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree required.
• Teaching license issued by the state for Special Education preferred.
• Previous teaching experience is not required but encouraged.
• Ability to meet the needs of diverse learners and follow district, state and federal mandates.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students and provides developmentally appropriate opportunities.
• Develops lesson plans and individual education plans.
• Monitors student performance and behavior and adjusts instruction as needed.
• Participates in conferences, meetings and professional development to support student growth.
