Qualifications

• Hold valid New York State Special Education Teacher Certification.
• Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards.
• Experience with IEP goal writing, implementation and progress monitoring.
• Experience with least restrictive environment and communicating with families and staff.
• Experience with curriculum modification for individual student needs.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Differentiate instruction based on student needs.
• Utilize data information systems and analyze data to inform action plans.
• Participate in the Committee on Special Education (CSE) and IEP processes.
• Provide specialized instruction to address individual student needs.
• Maintain communication with parents, students, teachers and stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by district administration.
