Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (High School) to join our in-person team serving a Providence County school for the 2026/2027 year. You will deliver specialized instruction and collaborate with school-based teams to support students with diverse needs.

The position is full-time, 35 hours per week, on-site, with a strong focus on inclusive practices, adaptive strategies, and progress monitoring to help students reach their learning goals.

Qualifications

• Valid 165 Comprehensive Special Education license/certification (PreK-12).
• Experience in inclusive and/or specialized classrooms.
• Ability to collaborate with school-based teams supporting student services.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction aligned to student learning and support needs.
• Support programs/classrooms designed for specific disability-related needs (e.g., autism support, behavior intervention, or life skills).
• Use instructional strategies appropriate to the student population served.
• Utilize classroom supports such as sensory tools and adaptive technology when available.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction within the specialized setting.
