Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate with special education endorsement or eligibility.
• Knowledge of educational technology and ability to integrate it into instruction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of United States citizenship or legal status.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in accordance with each student's IEP.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning experiences addressing individual needs.
• Provide individualized, small-group, resource, inclusive, or other instructional support as assigned.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior for a safe, positive learning environment.
• Monitor, document, and maintain records of student progress.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to coordinate instruction and support.
• Consult with Child Study Team regarding student programs and progress.
• Participate in meetings with families and case managers to review IEPs and placements.
• Support district special education programs and initiatives.
