Job summary

Applitrack in Michigan is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for high school students. You will provide direct instruction and collaborate with general education teachers to support diverse learners.

The role includes developing IEP goals, chairing IEPT meetings, and communicating progress to parents on a regular basis. You will design individualized instruction, apply high school curricula, and use evidence-based strategies to foster creativity, critical thinking, and engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
• Current Michigan Teacher Certification, required.
• Current Michigan Special Education Teaching Certificate, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support for students eligible for special education services.
• Deliver direct instruction for high school students and collaborate with general education teachers.
• Assess student progress and communicate with parents consistently.
• Develop IEP goals, chair IEPT meetings, and advocate for students on caseload.
• Design and implement IEPs to support student growth.
• Deliver specially designed instruction tailored to individual goals and needs.
• Apply high school curriculum knowledge to create meaningful learning experiences.
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to deliver curriculum and instruction.
• Foster creativity, critical thinking, and student engagement.
• Accommodate curriculum and technology to meet diverse learning needs.
• Support students in district-required assessments and evaluations.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support.
• Maintain accurate student records and prepare reports per policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
