Qualifications

• Missouri high school Special Education teaching certificate.
• Experience with students with learning, behavioral, and/or physical disabilities.
• Knowledge of IEP processes and special education laws.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring IEPs are followed.
• Author IEPs and include goals, accommodations/modifications, and present levels of academic performance.
• Adapt and modify materials to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and parents to create an inclusive environment.
• Implement behavior management strategies to foster positive student behavior and social skills.
• Monitor and assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain records of student progress, IEP goals, and documentation.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to PLC initiatives.
• Promote high expectations and active student participation in class.
