Job summary

The Richardson School in Cudahy, Wisconsin is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team. This full-time position focuses on developing IEP goals, delivering targeted instruction, and collaborating with stakeholders to support students with significant needs.

Responsibilities include creating daily lesson plans, leading classroom teams, and applying proactive behavior management aligned with MyPath therapeutic models. Strong knowledge of IEP processes is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Wisconsin DPI licensure in Cross-Categorical SPED (1801) or Intellectual Disabilities (1811) or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (1830).
• Experience with ASD, cognitive delays, EBD or related disabilities preferred.

• Have working knowledge of IEPs, develop and track IEP goals, and collaborate with stakeholders in IEP completion.
• Develop daily lesson plans based on individual student academic and behavioral needs.
• Establish a culture for learning through interactions with students and staff.
• Provide leadership and direction to staff supporting the classroom.
• Utilize proactive classroom behavior management aligned with MyPath therapeutic models.
• Plan and provide high-quality instruction based on IEPs.
• Update Progress Reports per trimester or marking period.

**Overview****The Richardson School** is currently seeking a **Special Education Teacher** to join their **Cudahy** **team!**The Richardson School is an alternative placement option for local districts to access for their students with significant needs and behavioral concerns. Our students are typically diagnosed with a combination of developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders. The school calendar follows the typical 180 educational days with the opportunity to attend Extended School Year for students in need of this programming.**As a Special Education Teacher, you will:*** Have a working knowledge of IEPs, develop and track IEP goals, collaborate with stakeholders in IEP completion.* Develop daily lesson plans based on individual student academic and behavioral needs.* Establishes a culture for learning as evidenced by student and staff interactions.* Provides leadership and direction to staff responsible for supporting the classroom.* Utilize proactive classroom behavior management approaches that are consistent with the goals and needs of the classroom students and aligns with MyPath therapeutic models.* Plans and provides high quality instruction based on students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).* Incorporates new instructional models and assessment techniques to assure optimum educational standards and ability to reach students’ changing needs.
