Job summary

American Leadership Academy is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year at Vistancia High School in the West Valley. Ideal candidates will have an Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card and a high school diploma or equivalent.

You will assist the SPED Teacher in implementing IEPs, adapt lessons for diverse learners, and help maintain a positive classroom environment. Strong teamwork and dependable communication with families are essential.

Job description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.

American Leadership Academy is currently accepting applications for a Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year for our Vistancia High School campus located in the West Valley. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the implementation of IEPs for students with disabilities, following specific goals and objectives outlined by the SPED Teacher.
• Help the SPED Teacher with delivering instruction in various subjects, adapting materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, promoting respectful behavior and encouraging student engagement.
• Support students in participating in learning activities, providing one-on-one or small group assistance as needed.
• Observe and document student performance and behavior, providing feedback to the SPED Teacher regarding individual student progress.
• Work closely with the SPED Teacher, general education teachers, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
• Encourage social interactions among students, helping them build friendships and navigate social situations within the classroom and school environment.
• Assist in preparing and organizing instructional materials, resources, and equipment for classroom activities.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
