Job summary

Barnesville High School, part of Barnesville Public School District, seeks a caring Special Education Paraprofessional for a 30-hour week to support students with disabilities academically, socially, behaviorally, and functionally.

The role includes one-on-one and small group support, collaboration with staff, and adherence to IEPs. Prior ParaPro or ParaEducator credentials or college credits are required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least two years of college coursework totaling 60 semester credits.
• Three years of relevant work experience, along with demonstrated competency and participation in district-facilitated training; or
• A passing score on the ParaPro or ParaEducator assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students receiving special education services.
• Assist students in special education and general education classrooms and throughout the school day.
• Work one-on-one or with small groups of students to reinforce instruction and develop academic and functional skills.
• Support student independence while providing assistance consistent with each student's IEP.
• Supervise and support students in classrooms and other school settings.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, related-service providers, administrators, and other staff.
• Maintain student confidentiality and follow all district policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
