Job summary

Qualifications

  • A demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred).
  • Academic expertise in Spanish or other related fields of study.
  • Prior to the start of employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Uncommon Schools teachers are required to become certified in the state of New York within a reasonable period after beginning employment.

Responsibilities

  • Build students' bilingual skills and enhance their understanding of Spanish language and AP/college coursework.
  • Help students navigate print and audio authentic sources.
  • Teach reading, writing, speaking and listening in Spanish.
  • Cultivate cultural awareness and a passion for the Spanish language.
  • Lead conversations in Spanish and collaborate with the Spanish department on goals.
