ENGAGEMENT AND INTERACTION
- A Village School teacher should be knowledgeable about not only his or her department and the curriculum developed there but about the school environment as a whole. They should be able to provide information about special programs offered as well as the philosophy of the school itself.
- A Village School teacher should be a proponent of the school and willing to talk about the school in a positive light to all constituents.
- A Village School teacher should work cooperatively and collectively with school Directors, Instructional Coaches, Coordinators, Department Heads, and other Teachers to ensure that instructional programs are coordinated and are administered uniformly and are aligned with desired outcomes.

LEARNING AND TEACHING
- Maintain a learning-focused classroom culture based on high expectations, routines, and mutual respect so that all students feel safe to move out of their comfort zones to achieve more.
- Be knowledgeable about what they teach and the children they teach so that they can plan for the challenges students face when learning their subject.
- Provide appropriate scaffolding and support such as guided practice and feedback to ensure all ranges of ability gain confidence and progress to independent proficiency.
- Include opportunities for students to explain, discuss, explore, reflect, and solve problems so that students are highly engaged and encouraged to think critically and creatively.
- Be flexible and responsive to student needs by regularly using formative assessment strategies to check for understanding and make instructional adjustments if necessary.
- Accurately measure and report student attainment using collaboratively developed assessments so that students can reliably demonstrate their mastery of content and skills.

Planning & Preparations Knowledge Of Subject:
- Have a well-developed, extensive knowledge of subject specialism and related pedagogy.
- Keep up to date and able to use this knowledge to influence the design and provision of an engaging and inspiring curriculum and lessons.
- Passionately impart and share knowledge, leading discussions and exploration to promote scholarship and high student performance.
- Plan sequences of lessons that introduce knowledge and skills coherently, deepening understanding, making connections, and mastering increasingly complex skills.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Qualified applicants will have demonstrated success teaching High School Social Science curriculum.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
- Experience teaching High School Social Science is desirable.
- Good cross-cultural, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact with diverse nationalities and cultures.
- Excellent analytical skills with the passion and drive to demonstrate and quantify success.
- Excellent time management skills and flexibility in dealing with multi-functional tasks.
