Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated American Sign Language Interpreter to provide daily classroom interpretation for one high school student in Ponca City, Oklahoma. This contract-to-hire role offers a stable path within a supportive school environment and standard school-week scheduling.

Responsibilities include interpreting lessons, collaborating with educational staff, and maintaining confidentiality and professional standards while adapting to the student’s evolving needs.

Qualifications

• Current Oklahoma QAST certification.
• RID certification is required.
• TASK 12 completion (Training and Assessment Systems for K-12 Educational Interpreters).
• Experience in educational settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and interpreting best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret classroom instruction and school communications for one high school student on a daily basis.
• Foster an inclusive and accessible learning experience.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective accommodation.
• Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
• Adjust approach as needed to meet individual student needs and educational goals.
• Maintain accurate records of interpreting services rendered.
