Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a qualified high school science teacher (9-12) for the 26-27 school year. You will plan and deliver instruction in Astronomy, Earth & Space, and General Science, meeting NC standards and district expectations.

You will assess student progress, maintain student records for IEPs and 504 plans, and collaborate with parents and staff to support student achievement in a dynamic classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Prepare for classes assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and resolve challenges.
