For this High School Science Teacher position, you’ll be working for our high school in Wilmington, Delaware called Freire Charter School Wilmington (8th-12th Grade). Freire emphasizes Graduation x 2 – from high school and college, supporting students to achieve higher than ever before with personalized college counseling. What you’ll do

As part of Freire’s instructional team, you’ll use a standard aligned curriculum to promote critical thinking and high achievement.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a classroom culture focused on critical thinking, rigorous learning, respect, and high achievement for all students.
• Utilize content-specific curriculum and develop learning materials to foster problem-solving skills.
• Maintain regular communication with families about student progress and school updates.
• Participate in professional development and collaborate with staff to support student needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Valid state teaching certification or willingness to obtain one

Pay and Benefits

The salary range is $50,000 - $85,000, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and participation in Delaware’s state pension plan and optional 403(b).
