Job summary

Pecatonica High School is hiring a Science teacher for the 2027-2028 school year. The successful candidate will teach Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy & Physiology, Forensics, and AP coursework as assigned based on strengths and licensure. Strong data-informed instruction and collaboration with staff are expected.

Licensure to teach high school science is required; additional AP coursework teaching is a plus. The district pays full TRS on top of base salary and covers 70% of single insurance;

Qualifications

• Ability to provide engaging, interactive lessons and collaborate with staff.

Job description

Pecatonica High School has one Science teacher opening beginning in the 2027-2028 school year. The ideal candidate will teach the assigned sections based on strengths, experience, licensure, and interest. The current science sections for this position include: Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy & Physiology, Forensics as well as a couple sections of AP coursework.

Qualifications

The candidate should be able to provide interactive and engaging lessons, use data to drive instruction, and be collaborative with staff, and demonstrate professionalism in the assigned duties. Licensure to teach the assigned subject areas at the high school level. Additional considerations will be given to candidates able to teach sections of AP coursework.

Salary/Benefits

Per the five-year PNA, the base salary will be at least $42,000. Will be negotiating a new contract this school year. The district pays full TRS on top of the base salary and also pays 70% of single insurance. Candidates with additional coursework and experience will be placed accordingly on the salary schedule.

Additional Notes

Extracurricular duties may be available if interested and qualified. This position is open due to the current staff member retiring at the end of this school year.
