Job summary

DRS Yeshiva High School for Boys in Cedarhurst, NY seeks a Full-Time District Based Resource Room Teacher to support students with learning differences in a resource-room setting. The role emphasizes individualized instruction and close collaboration with school staff to foster academic exploration and growth.

The ideal candidate will develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and tailor instruction to each student’s needs.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education or a related field.
• Experience in a resource room or special education setting, preferably at the high school level.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with teachers, administrators, parents, and district personnel.
• Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs.

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as needed.
• Tailor instruction and interventions to meet the unique learning needs of individual students.
• Attend district meetings as needed and ensure compliance with all district and state guidelines for special education services.
• Administer testing for student reevaluation
• Participate in DRS staff meetings and professional development opportunities as part of the school community.

Requirements:

• Valid NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education or a related field.
• Experience working in a resource room or special education setting, preferable at the high school level.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and district personnel.
• Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a yeshiva or religious school setting.
• Knowledge of learning disabilities, ADHD, and other challenges that may impact student performance.
