Job summary

DRS Yeshiva High School for Boys in Cedarhurst, NY seeks a Full-Time District Based Resource Room Teacher to support students with learning differences in a resource-room setting. The role emphasizes individualized instruction and close collaboration with school staff to foster academic exploration and growth.

The ideal candidate will develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and tailor instruction to each student’s needs.

Qualifications

Valid NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education or a related field.
Experience in a resource room or special education setting, preferably at the high school level.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with teachers, administrators, parents, and district personnel.
Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students with learning differences in a resource-room setting.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as needed.
Tailor instruction and interventions to meet the unique learning needs of individual students.
Attend district meetings and ensure compliance with district and state guidelines for special education services.
Administer testing for student reevaluation.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
