Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is seeking a City Wide Paraeducator to support BCHS Excel program and Special Education staff at Bristol Central High School. You will assist in small group and individual instruction under the supervision of a special education teacher.

Responsibilities include maintaining classroom discipline, assisting with instructional activities, and supporting students with IEP goals. This position requires working with both special education and regular students during school hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college credit or an associate's degree; or parapro assessment completed.
• Parapro assessment content knowledge in math, reading, and writing required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instruction under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Assist teacher in maintaining discipline and managing classroom behavior.
• Assist teacher with instructional activities and materials.
• Escort students between rooms and supervise during recess and lunch.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and student-specific accommodations.
• Prepare and file instructional paperwork and copy materials as needed.
