Qualifications

• Ability to assess student reading skills, monitor progress, and adjust instruction based on data.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
• Commitment to supporting students with disabilities in accessing effective, individualized literacy instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group reading instruction to high school students with disabilities.
• Implement structured literacy instruction using the Orton-Gillingham approach, Wilson Reading System, or another approved intervention.
• Deliver explicit, systematic, cumulative, and multisensory instruction to address literacy needs.
• Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with IEP goals and present levels of academic achievement.
• Monitor progress through ongoing assessment and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Maintain accurate documentation of instructional services and progress results.
• Collaborate with special education, general education, and related service staff.
• Communicate student progress and recommendations to school personnel and families.
• Participate in IEP Team meetings and contribute literacy-related information.
• Support students in applying reading strategies across settings and accessing curriculum.
