Job summary

Commonpoint seeks a Coordinator for the Forest Hills High School program to support high school students through counseling, life skills, and college/career exploration. The role supervises counselor advocates, provides crisis and referral services, and collaborates with families and school staff to boost student success.

Responsibilities include developing engaging programming, managing program budgets, and ensuring compliance with DOE and funder requirements, with occasional evenings/weekends

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, School Counseling, or related field strongly preferred.
• At least three years experience with urban adolescents; ability to build rapport and reduce barriers to education.
• Excellent organizational, teamwork, verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of contractual compliance and high-quality government contracts and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative programming for High School freshmen/sophomores focused on counseling, social-emotional wellbeing, life skills, relationships, and career exploration.
• Supervise part-time counselor advocates and provide ongoing feedback and support.
• Provide emotional and supportive counseling to students and referrals to parents/guardians.
• Manage program budget for food, events, supplies, salaries, and equipment.
• Communicate statistics to funders and agency executives.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administration to improve educational planning.
• Facilitate remote learning activities and conduct weekly individual/group counseling.
