Qualifications

• Master's degree in secondary administration or secondary education.
• Secondary teaching certificate is required.
• Minimum of five years of successful secondary teaching experience.
• High school principal experience is preferred.
• Valid Michigan Administrator’s Certificate or Letter of Eligibility.
• Alternative qualifications may be considered by the Board of Education.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities including communication, collaboration and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Supervise instructional staff in curriculum development and student activities.
• Coordinate services of resource personnel to support teachers.
• Develop and oversee educational programs and district competency work.
• Oversee the Digital Ecosystem and school operations.
• Lead budgeting, reporting, and adherence to BOE policies.
• Represent the school community in public relations and events.
• Recruit, hire, and evaluate professional staff; ensure safety and plan administration.
• Plan and supervise emergency drills and attendance/records management.
• Participate in principals’ meetings and required committees.
