Job summary

BelovED Community & Empowerment Academy Charter Schools is seeking a Physical Education, Driver's Ed, and Health Teacher for our high school for the current school year and beyond. Begin as soon as possible.

Competitive base salary and opportunities for raises and stipends are noted, with a schedule of 7:15am-3:05pm. The school values dedicated teachers, offers rich supports, and operates across multiple campuses in New Jersey, including Jersey City and nearby areas.

Qualifications

• NJ Department of Education CE, CEAS, Limited CE or Standard Certificate in Physical Education/Health required.
• Driver's Ed is a major plus.
• Sub Cert considered if PE Certification is in progress (under Sub Contract/Salary).

Responsibilities

• Teach Physical Education, Driver's Ed and Health to high school students.
• Collaborate with PLCs to plan lessons and share best practices.
• Deliver engaging instruction and monitor student progress toward mastery.
• Support the school mission and contribute to a positive educational environment.

Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a Physical Education, Driver's Ed, and Health Teacher for our High School for the current school year and beyond. We are looking for someone to begin as soon as possible.

Base Salary (if certified):

$67,000-$90,000

Competitive Raises

year to year, many BONUS and Stipend opportunities, no Master's needed.

TEACHER SUPPORTS

Teachers at Empowerment Academy are part of a school-wide team. They receive career-long coaching and professional development support from school leaders; work with their peers in professional learning communities (PLCs) to plan lessons and solve problems; and partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars' diverse needs.

Examples of such teacher supports include:

• Abundant planning periods during the school day;
• A research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials;
• High-quality formative assessments, aligned with the curriculum, that help identify when students have not achieved mastery of a skill, concept, or knowledge item; and
• Full-time reading and math specialists who tutor students struggling to master an essential skill, and counselors and social workers who help students struggling with non-academic problems

Requirements

• Candidates should either hold a New Jersey Department of Education CE, CEAS, Limited CE or Standard Certificate in Physical Education/Health. Driver's Ed is a major plus.
• We will consider candidates with a Sub Cert IF they are in the process of getting a PE Certification (but you will work under a Sub Contract/Salary).
