Danbury Public Schools seeks a dedicated Physical Education/Health teacher for Danbury High School. You will deliver standards-based instruction, foster a student-centered learning environment, and collaborate with families to support student growth.

The role emphasizes engaging adolescent learners in a diverse community, maintaining records, and participating in ongoing professional learning to advance student achievement.

Formación

• Active CT certifications in Physical Education and Health are required.
• Experience teaching high school students in a diverse, urban setting is preferred.
• Ability to plan and deliver standards-based Physical Education instruction.

Responsabilidades

• Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program defined by the Danbury Board of Education.
• Set clear expectations, manage classroom routines and student behavior.
• Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives and appropriate instructional techniques.
• Demonstrate strong content knowledge of Physical Education for secondary students.
• Maintain records, conduct conferences with parents, and monitor student progress.
• Design instruction to meet needs of all students in various settings.
• Develop and implement assessments to measure progress and refine curriculum.
