Qualifications

• Experience in engaging with a diverse student population

• Organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Experience teaching in secondary science preferred

Responsibilities

• Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined by the Danbury Board of Education
• Set and reinforce clear expectations and routines
• Manage the classroom and student behavior to maintain a productive learning environment
• Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives and effective teaching methods
• Demonstrate strong content knowledge of Science and organize assessments
• Maintain records and communicate with parents through conferences and reports
• Assess student progress and identify areas needing intervention
• Differentiate instruction for individual and small groups as needed
• Contribute to textbook and material selection and professional learning
