Qualifications

• Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs.
• Skilled in the use of multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.
• Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills.

• Designs and implements authentic learning experiences using the Virginia Standards of Learning and LCPS curriculum.
• Uses diverse resources and technology to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving.
• Personalizes instruction based on student needs and manages time for learning.
• Assesses student growth relative to educational goals and outcomes.
• Communicates with students and parents about progress and instructional objectives.
• Manages student behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Plans instructional activities with other staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• Supports colleagues, students, parents and community stakeholders to promote student mastery.
• Directs work of teacher assistants, student teachers, and volunteers when appropriate.
• Participates in the school's professional learning community to deepen curriculum understanding.
