Job summary

Arlington ISD seeks a Path College & Career Teacher for secondary students at ACHS. You will provide engaging learning experiences in the assigned subject to help students grow intellectually, emotionally and socially.

Responsibilities include implementing AISD guidelines, differentiating instruction, and preparing students for exams like TSI/SAT/ACT/EOC. Strong classroom management and collaboration with staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for subject and level assigned (8-12 ELA preferred).
• Experience teaching high school (preferred).
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of integration of technology.
• AVID training (preferred).
• Pre-AP and/or AP Institute training (preferred).
• Evidence of collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of transitions to higher education environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement AISD curriculum guidelines for high school level courses.
• Prepare differentiated lessons and varied instructional techniques.
• Support student success on TSI/SAT/ACT/EOC exams.
• Develop lesson plans aligning with district curriculum with written prep evidence.
• Accommodate differences in student learning styles.
• Present material per TEA guidelines and policies.
• Plan using strategies reflecting learning styles and needs.
• Assess student learning styles to guide instruction.
• Collaborate with special education teachers for IEPs.
• Coordinate with staff to meet curriculum objectives.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Utilize technology to strengthen teaching and learning.
• Create a conducive classroom environment.
• Manage student behavior per Code of Conduct and handbooks.
• Protect students and school property.
• Assist in materials selection.
• Work with administrators and staff to meet objectives.
• Help students improve study methods and habits.
• Keep informed of state/district/school regulations.
