Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or small groups in a variety of educational settings (classroom, resource room, community-based learning, etc.).
• Carries out instructional activities as designed by a certified staff member.
• Maintains and records data on student progress as assigned.
• Assists students in following classroom and school rules, routines, and behavioral expectations.
• Monitors individual or group testing and provides appropriate accommodations as directed.
• Supports implementation of accommodations and modifications as described in students’ IEPs and 504 Plans.
• Assists in the development and implementation of instructional and behavioral strategies for the classroom
• Supervises testing, makeup work, or independent study as assigned by the teacher.
• Scores tests and corrects papers using established answer keys.
• Assists with the use of instructional media, technology, equipment, and materials.
• Prepares instructional materials and supports the organization of classroom supplies.
• Helps ensure students’ personal safety and well-being at all times.
• Serves as a source of information and assistance for substitute staff in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Assists in the general supervision of students throughout the school environment, including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, vans, after and before school programs, buses, and other assigned areas.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of all student information in compliance with district policy and FERPA regulations.
• Participates in assigned staff development programs to enhance skills and professional growth.
• Demonstrates cultural competence, professionalism, and adherence to district policies and ethical standards.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, building administrator, or Pupil Services Department.
