Proctor High School invites applications for a One-Act Play Director to lead the school’s participation in MSHSL competitions. You will oversee auditions, casting, rehearsals, and performances, ensuring alignment with district values and competition requirements.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, collaboration with staff and families, and responsible budget and resource management to provide an inclusive, educational experience for all participants.

Competenze

• Experience directing theater productions at high school, collegiate, or community level.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn MSHSL One-Act Play rules and procedures.

Mansioni

• Select an appropriate MSHSL-approved one-act play that meets contest rules and time requirements.
• Organize and lead auditions, casting, rehearsals, and performances according to a pre-established production calendar.
• Collaborate with staff, students, and families to promote the program and encourage participation.
• Ensure production aligns with district values and MSHSL guidelines on content, safety, and inclusivity.
• Supervise and support student performers and crew in acting, stagecraft, lighting, sound, makeup, and costuming.
• Coordinate with the Activities Director the logistics for competition entries, including registration, transportation, schedules, and documentation.
• Work with fine arts staff and the Activities Office.
• Attend all sub-region, region, and state contests; manage student behavior and safety during travel and competition.
• Communicate with students, families, and administration regarding expectations, schedules, and updates.
• Manage program budget and resources, including royalties, set materials, and technical needs.
• Foster an inclusive, positive environment aligned with the district’s mission to educate, engage, and inspire.
